Zenith Rope-Edge Eames Armchair

$2,800.00

1st generation rope-edge yellow fiberglass armchair, designed by Ray and Charles Eames for Herman Miller. This early example has the visual sharpness and material presence that distinguish the best of the first production shells, with a richly varied fiberglass matrix that shifts in density and saturation across the surface. The yellow is soft and subtle, and the rope edge gives the form structure at the edge by design. Set on original walnut swivel base, the chair brings together the industrial materials with the warmth of finely shaped wood. The swivel moves smoothly, and the original shock mounts remain present, preserving the integrity of the construction.

The chair retains an early Zenith label to the underside. It is a collector' piece that lands on all the right details, materially vivid, structurally intact, and historical significance to Eames fiberglass production.
