Condition

Open Air Modern specializes in vintage and previously owned furniture. Each piece is sold as is and may show signs of age, use, patina or minor imperfections.

Photographs are an important part of the condition description. We are also happy to provide additional photographs, measurements, or a detailed condition report before purchase. Buyers are encouraged to review all available information and contact us with any questions before purchasing. Viewings are available at our Williamsburg showroom by appointment.

Returns and Cancellations

We hope you will be completely happy with your purchase. Because our inventory consists of individual vintage pieces, returns are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by Open Air Modern.

Requests to cancel or return an order must be made within 48 hours of purchase. Approved cancellations and returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee.

The buyer is responsible for all return shipping, packing, insurance, and related costs. Original shipping and delivery charges are nonrefundable. Returned items must arrive in the same condition in which they were sold before a refund can be issued.

Sale items, custom upholstery, COM orders, restoration work, and other custom or altered pieces are final sale.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available from our Williamsburg showroom by appointment during regular business hours.

Please let us know in advance when you plan to collect your purchase, as furniture may need to be moved within the showroom to make the item accessible.

Buyers arranging their own pickup should bring an appropriately sized vehicle, protective blankets, and enough assistance to move the item safely. We will coordinate pickup with your third-party shipper when requested.

New York City Delivery

We offer local delivery throughout New York City and the surrounding area.

Curbside delivery may be available for smaller furniture. With curbside service, the item is delivered to the building entrance, and the buyer is responsible for bringing it inside.

White-glove delivery is available for indoor deliveries and for buildings with specific requirements. Please provide the complete delivery address and let us know about stairs, elevators, loading docks, restricted delivery hours, and certificate of insurance requirements so we can arrange the appropriate service.

Long-Distance Shipping

For long-distance orders, we work with trusted blanket-wrap and freight carriers experienced in transporting vintage furniture.

When an order is placed without a confirmed shipping rate, we may follow up with a separate shipping quote and invoice based on the item, destination, and level of service required.

Most furniture is shipped by blanket-wrap carrier rather than UPS or another standard parcel service. Smaller items may be packed and shipped by a parcel carrier when appropriate.

Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value pieces may require special packing, crating, additional handling, or insurance. Delivery times vary depending on the route and carrier schedule, and furniture shipments may take several weeks from booking to delivery.

Buyers are also welcome to arrange their own third-party carrier. We will coordinate directly with the shipper and assist with scheduling pickup from our showroom.

International Shipping

Open Air Modern ships worldwide. International orders may be shipped by air or sea freight depending on the item, destination, and timing.

Please email info@oamnyc.com with the full delivery address for a custom quote. If an international order is placed before shipping is confirmed, we may follow up with a separate quote and shipping invoice.

The buyer is responsible for all customs duties, taxes, brokerage charges, import fees, and destination-country requirements.

Delivery Inspection

Please inspect your purchase at the time of delivery.

Any visible shipping damage should be noted with the carrier before the delivery is accepted and reported to Open Air Modern within 48 hours of delivery. Clear photographs of the item, packaging, and damage may be required to support a shipping claim.

Storage

Pickup and shipping arrangements should be made promptly after purchase.

When additional storage is needed, please contact us in advance. Storage may be available by prior arrangement, and fees may apply based on the size of the item and length of storage.

Items left without pickup or shipping arrangements for more than 60 days may be considered abandoned unless other arrangements have been confirmed in writing.
