Danish Modern AT-33 sewing table designed by Hans J. Wegner for Andreas Tuck. Executed in teak, the design reflects Wegner’s disciplined approach to proportion and utility, with softly rounded edges, tapered legs, and balanced joinery throughout. Two drop leaves extend the working surface while preserving a compact footprint when closed.
The table retains its original woven wicker basket suspended beneath the top, framed by a teak support tray with integrated cutout handles. A deep upper drawer is fitted with finely crafted internal dividers and turned pegs intended for thread spools, needles, and sewing tools, illustrating the thoughtful functional detailing characteristic of Andreas Tuck’s cabinetmaking. An open lower shelf provides additional storage and reinforces the table’s architectural structure.
This early example was retailed by Illums Bolighus and retains the original retailer plaque. Danish Control stamp present.
