P40 lounge chair designed by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno in 1955. The P40 uses a system of articulated components to move between an upright seat and a fully extended chaise. The backrest reclines through multiple positions, while a concealed leg support pivots from beneath the seat and ends in a retractable metal footrest. The exposed hardware and adjustable framework are central to the design, revealing Borsaniβs interest in furniture that could respond directly to the body. Flexible steel and rubber armrests complete its unusually mechanical construction.
This vintage example is upholstered in cognac leather with a warm, developed patina. Leather looks nice overall, but has areas of wear and small tears to the seat.
A great candidate for customization. Reupholstery is available upon request for an additional charge.
