Louis Sognot Coffee Table
Sculptural coffee table in oak, steel, and glass, designed by Louis Sognot for Roche, a key figure in mid century French modernism. The base is drawn as a sharp zigzag in solid walnut, tapering to fine points at the floor while rising to support a soft triangular glass top. A black enameled fan-shaped steel rack floats between the legs, adding storage and reinforcing the graphic quality of the design. The mix of airy volume and strong geometry gives the table presence without heaviness. The oak shows a warm, even tone with attractive grain, and the table presents well overall in good vintage condition.
Designer: Louis Sognot
Manufacturer: Roche
Origin: France
Date: Circa 1950
Dimensions: 17.5" H x 35.5" W x 25.75" D
