Model NV 45 chair, with walnut frame, designed by Finn Juhl and manufactured by Baker Furniture. Originally crafted by renowned Danish cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, the design was revolutionary due to its distinct separation of the seat and back from the frame. This innovation lends the 45 Chair an air of lightness and creates a sense of floating elegance. With organic, sculptural lines inspired by abstract modern art, the contours of the frame demanded the skill of an expert craftsman. Impressed by the woodworking expertise at Baker Furniture, Juhl licensed his designs for production in the U.S. Our example features a beautifully restored walnut frame and has been reupholstered in luxurious Holland and Sherry wool.
