Original Bwana Chair with matching ottoman, designed by Finn Juhl for France & Daverkosen. The sculptural teak frame reflects Juhl’s refined shaping, featuring the gently flared headrest, rounded arm terminals, and floating back construction that define the model. The wide, angled backrest and layered seat cushions create a relaxed, low-slung profile. Constructed from select teak, the frame shows a warm, even patina and remains sturdy with strong, well-fitted joinery. Both pieces have been newly upholstered in a textured taupe Holland & Sherry wool that complements the warm teak and preserves the intended soft contours of the design. The ottoman mirrors the chair’s sculptural form, with a curved cushion and tapered legs. A well-executed early example from France & Daverkosen, one of Juhl’s most important manufacturing partners.
