Carl Auböck II Coffee Table
Live-edge coffee table with a sculpted hardwood top, designed by Carl Auböck II. The irregular slab is kept close to its natural state, with a warm amber surface, darkened bark edge, and visible knots that preserve the character of the tree. Three splayed legs lift the piece lightly off the ground and give it a subtle architectural stance.
Auböck’s Vienna workshop is known for precise metalwork and a tactile approach to materials, and that sensibility comes through here in the contrast between the crisp, turned legs and the raw, asymmetrical top. A study in organic modernism, informed by mid century studio craft.
Designer: Carl Auböck II
Origin: Austria
Date: 1950s
Dimensions: 18.5" H x 60.5" W x 27" D
