Ben Seibel Floor Lamp
Model 5007 Flexlight floor lamp, designed by Ben Seibel for Raymor. Seibel’s 5000-series lamps were introduced in Raymor’s 1951 catalog as part of a “distinctive group of flexible lighting units.” The minimalist design pares the lamp down to line and weight—industrial parts in precise balance. Wide spun-metal shade with perforated reflector in yellow enamel, a later repaint in line with original catalog finishes. The reflector is suspended between twin blackened steel arms. The V-shaped construction anchors into a circular cast-iron base with a brass fitting. The design shows Seibel’s ability to resolve utilitarian components into a strong architectural form.

Designer: Ben Seibel
Manufacturer: Raymor (Richards Morgenthau & Co.)
Origin: United States
